Palm have apparently confirmed that they will be making an announcement next week regarding the UK version of the Palm Pre. The news, says T3, will include which network has won exclusivity for the GSM handset in the UK, when exactly it will be available, and at what price.

After being caught on camera in Vietnam this week, the next sighting pegs the Pre as in London, UK. Twitter user utku spotted what sounds like a field tester using his Pre on the Tube; however when approached the user became highly secretive.

Palm have released webOS v1.0.4 as an over-the-air update, and as you might expect it addresses the most significant security hole discovered by Pre-hackers: side-loading applications via email. In fact, aside from blocking up some security holes, webOS 1.0.4 brings no new applications or features.

It's hard to get away from the fact that the Pre on-device app store has less apps available than the Apple App Store offers. Despite that fact when the number of Pres on the market are considered the Pre app store is doing well.

Palm has being doing pretty well for itself since the official launch of the Pre smartphone a few weeks back. Its application store is actually doing decently against the iTunes App Store when the number of handsets in the field is considered and the phone is selling out for Sprint.
